All Fresno State wines are produced through the dedication of students and faculty. Fresno State’s prestigious program is known for engaging students in all aspects of the wine making process. The process begins with student participation in vineyard practices to ensure our grapes are of the highest possible quality. Grapes are harvested and brought to our winery from Fresno State’s and partnered vineyards throughout the San Joaquin Valley and, upon arrival, students begin the winemaking process. Throughout fermentation and cellaring, wines are managed by student winemakers and, at the appropriate time, blended and bottled.

Fresno State is the first university to have an on-campus winery that is fully licensed to produce, bottle and sell wine. Access to this unique facility combined with the wisdom of world class instructors has resulted in Fresno State Winery achieving continuous recognition for producing quality wines. Each year, the winery is represented at both national and international wine competitions, consistently receiving numerous gold and silver medals, including “Best of Class” on frequent occasions.
